Ellington Shuffles The Deck As Crime Breathes Down His Neck

Today’s Las May cartoon in the Jamaica Gleaner newspaper shows Acting Commissioner of Police Owen Ellington, as he shuffles his deck of officers (referencing recent reassignments of police divisional commanders), meanwhile, crime is breathing down his neck.

This recent Las May cartoon was featured in the Gleaner newspaper, and speaks to recent reports that three policemen were interdicted for their alleged roles in gun salutes that took place at the recent funeral of an alleged gang leader.

National Security Minister Goes After Gangs

Senator Dwight Nelson, Jamaica’s National Security Minister, announced recently that one of the priorities this year will be tackling gangs. This Las May cartoon shows the Minister at his desk, with the police (whose wage negotiations with the Government are still in limbo) agreeing but requesting a little incentive to help with the gang-busting.

Today’s Las May cartoon in the Jamaica Gleaner newspaper references the increased police presence on Jamaica’s roads, as Santa Claus with his bag of toys and gifts has to plead and explain that it’s not loot and that he should not be arrested.
