A policeman from the Motorised Patrol Division reportedly underwent emergency surgery last night, after a fight with his 33-year-old common-law wife left both nursing knife wounds at their home in the Lebanon Housing Scheme, Islington, St. Mary.

Reports are that about 6:30 p.m. yesterday, the couple was at home when a dispute developed. During the dispute, knives were used to inflict several wounds on each other. They were taken to hospital where the policeman underwent emergency surgery, and is now said to be in stable condition. His common-law wife was reportedly treated and has been taken into police custody for questioning. The service vehicle that was being driven by the policeman was said to have been damaged extensively by the female during the incident.
