April 20 in Jamaican Police History
April 20, 1948 – The first experiment, with a new type of tropical uniform for all ranks (below that of Sergeant Major) of the Jamaica Constabulary, begins with Constable Eric Sibblies of the Franklin Town Police Station. He has the honour of being the first man in the force to try on the new uniform.
