Policeman Mowed Down & Killed By Fleeing Motorist
Constable Ainsroy Rushton of the Constant Spring Police Station in Kingston, was reportedly mowed down and killed last night by a motorist who attempted a getaway, after Constable Rushton had attempted to prosecute him for a traffic offence on the Mannings Hill main road.
According to reports, Constable Rushton stopped 23-year-old Dwayne McKenzie of Forrest Hill, St. Andrew. McKenzie’s documents were not in order, he was reportedly told that the police would be seizing his vehicle. It is alleged that McKenzie drove off, dragging Rushton for several metres, before crashing into a wall and escaping on foot. McKenzie was later taken into custody by the police when he returned to the accident scene.
