Police Armoury To Get Closed-Circuit Television
Almost two months after a police sergeant and two civilian employees of the police armoury were arrested for their alleged role in the sale of weapons from the armoury to the criminal underworld, National Security Minister Dwight Nelson has announced that closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras will be placed inside and outside the premises. He made the announcement yesterday while visiting the armoury to get a first-hand view of the progress that was being made by the Internal Audit Unit of the Ministry of National Security.
The Minister had ordered an audit in the aftermath of the arrest of the police sergeant and three others (including the two civilian employees of the armoury).
