Today’s Clovis cartoon (below) which was featured in the Chat magazine, speaks to yesterday’s ‘all out battle’ between police and gunmen in the Hannah Town and Denham Town areas of Kingston. Three policemen were shot and injured, and two gunmen were killed during the incident. The cartoon also implies a relationship between the incident and Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke (aka Prezi … alleged ‘Don’ of the nearby Tivoli community), as the cartoon shows a woman running and screaming that they’ve come for ‘Pres’. Coke is at the centre of an ongoing dispute between the Jamaican and the U.S. Governments, as the U.S. has sought to extradite him to face a number of drug and gun-related charges, while the Jamaican government has declined to do so at this time.
