Residents in one section of Wilton Gardens (more popularly known as Rema), are protesting the police killing on Saturday, January 30, of three men from the area.

The dead men have been identified as 26 year old David Jones, who would have celebrated his birthday yesterday; 20 year old Ryan Palmer; and 20 year old Lance Robinson, who is the father of a six-month-old baby girl.

According to the police, the three men were shot and killed during a shoot-out, and all three were founding clutching weapons – a Browning 9mm, a Smith & Wesson 9mm and a .357 Magnum.

Residents are stating however, that there was never a shoot out, and that no guns were recovered or displayed to the residents. They allege that all three were among a group of men in a yard on Third Street, when they were surprised by the police. According to the residents, all the men ran, but no shots were fired at the police. They say the men were held after a brief chase, then shot dead at close range.
