Policeman Shot & Injured In St. Catherine
A 24 year old police constable attached to the Motorized Patrol Division, was shot and injured by gunmen last night at Hartland in St. Catherine.
According to police reports, at about 7:20 p.m., the policeman was driving along the Hartland main road, when a Toyota Corolla motor car drove up. Two men alighted from the vehicle and opened gunfire, hitting the constable several times. He managed to return fire, but the men escaped in the waiting vehicle. The policeman was taken to hospital, where he was admitted in serious condition.
The Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Bureau is investigating.
