Jamaica Constabulary Force Ramps Up Its Recruiting Drive
Speaking yesterday at a press briefing at the Police Officers’ Club on Hope Road in Kingston yesterday, Karl Angell (Jamaica Constabulary Force – JCF – Communications Director) said the JCF had ramped up its recruitment drive, and that they are planning to increase the number of police personnel by 800 recruits this year. This would grow the JCF to 9,200 personnel, and the overall police complement to 13,000 personnel. He said the long term aim is to increase the size of the JCF to 12,000 personnel, and that the two training facilities (Tranquility Bay and the Police Academy
at Twickenham Park) are now operating at capacity.
