Seven Police Constables Dismissed From JCF

Further to ten police personnel being dismissed recently, this week’s Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) Force Orders announced that another seven police personnel have been dismissed for breaching the JCF’s regulations. All seven were constables – a woman constable, five regular male constables and a special constable.

Here are the circumstances under which they were dismissed:

  • Constable assigned to the Motorised Patrol Division dismissed in November after he discharged his service pistol at a stage show at the James Bond Beach in July 2004.
  • Female police constable from St. Andrew Central sacked in August after she disobeyed an order from her senior officer to provide security to a councillor who had been shot and hospitalised.
  • Constable from the St. Thomas Police Division dismissed effective August after he was observed acting in a manner which aroused his colleagues’ suspicion at the Norman Manley International Airport. He reportedly attempted to flee the scene when challenged by his colleagues.
  • Constable assigned to the Area One Headquarters was implicated in a rape case and dismissed in August
  • Constable sent home after he failed to obey an order from his senior officer to deal with a dispute in Morant Bay, St Thomas. He was assigned to the St. Andrew South Division and was sent home on Tuesday.
  • Constable assigned to the Hanover Division dismissed on December 4 for being disrespectful to his senior officers and failing to obey their instructions.
  • Another cop will be booted in February after he reportedly lost two cartridges from his service revolver.
