Latest Alleged Corrupt Cop Identified
The Detective Sergeant who was arrested last week at the Greater Portmore police station by officers from the Anti-Corruption Branch of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, has been identified Karl Morrison, a 28 year veteran of the force. He was arrested and charged on two counts of accepting and one count of soliciting, and appeared in the Spanish Town criminal court yesterday, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was offered bail in the sum of $500,000, and is to return to court on February 8, 2010, when the matter will be mentioned again.
As a condition of his bail, a stop order has been placed at all airports and other ports of entry/exit, and he was ordered to hand over his travel documents. He is to report to the Hunt’s Bay police station in St. Andrew twice weekly, and must not contact or associate himself with any of the crown witnesses.
