December 8 in Jamaican Police History
December 8, 1976 – a police car is stoned in Rose Town, Kingston 13, injuring a policeman (but not seriously). The incident occurred while Councillor Portia Simpson, PNP candidate for the South West St. Andrew constituency, was keeping a spot meeting near the First Steet and White Street intersection. Policemen from the Admiral Town police station were patrolling in the car when it was stoned.
