Policeman Murdered In Seaview Gardens Identified

The policeman who was murdered in Seaview Gardens, Kingston on Thursday night (October 22), has been identified as Constable Delroy Brown of the Constant Spring Police Station in the St. Andrew North Division. Constable Brown was reportedly robbed of his service pistol and a police radio during the attack.

The Major Investigations Task Force (MIT) has now reportedly launched a manhunt for the gunman who killed Constable Brown. They are reportedly following several leads as they try to capture the killer is asking that anyone with information, to contact Police Control at 119, Crime Stop at 311 and Operation Kingfish at 811.

The murder of Constable Brown has been condemned in many quarters. National Security Minister Dwight Nelson said “this murderous action has once again brought to the fore the dangers faced by members of the security forces as they go about their daily duties to serve and protect, as well as their private lives. The attack on the armed forces also highlights the situation being experienced by civilians without the means to defend themselves. It’s time for us all to stand up and reclaim our country from these cowardly individuals.

Opposition Spokesman on National Security Peter Bunting also condemned the incident, stating, “the Opposition is indeed troubled by this brazen attack on yet another of our service officer. We empathize with Constable Brown’s family and friends, the Constant Spring police and the wider Constabulary Force, who must be shaken by this loss.
