Policeman Freed Of Gun & Robbery Charges
Constable Kevin Taylor, who is assigned to the Harman Barracks in Kingston, was yesterday freed of gun and robbery charges when he appeared before the High Court Division of the Gun Court. Why? Because he did not have a mole on his face, and the complainant reportedly said that while Taylor resembled the robber, the perpetrator definitely had that distinguishing mark.
The complainant was allegedly robbed of his cellular phone and $3,570 cash at gunpoint last year, by two men (one of whom had a gun) who pulled up beside him in a marked police service vehicle. An observant witness had noted the license number of the vehicle, and Taylor was subsequently arrested the following day.
