Additional J$234 Million To Purchase Vehicles & Boats For JCF
The Government has made an additional J$234 million available to purchase motor vehicles and boats for the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF). The sum was included as capital expenditure in the First Supplementary Estimates 2009/10, which were tabled in the House of Representatives last week Tuesday (September 22), by the Minister of Finance and the Public Service, Hon. Audley Shaw.
National Security Minister, Senator Dwight Nelson, has previously stated that mobility continues to be a challenge for the police force. He said he was working towards the day that every police station and every police post has at least two police vehicles. He said that providing the police with more armored vehicles was another initiative that’s being pursued.
