PSC Gives Suspected Lotto Scam Police Two Weeks To Explain
The Police Service Commission (PSC) has reportedly given eight police officers in St. James two weeks to respond to allegations of their involvement in the large-scale lottery scams being perpetrated at that end of the island. They are being accused of ‘hustling’ the lotto scammers for money.
If they do not respond within the time frame, then, on the recommendation of the commissioner of police – Rear Admiral Hardley Lewin – they will have to take the option of retiring in the public interest. All eight were attached to the Mt. Salem Police Station in Montego Bay, and are part of a group of 18 men and women who were interdicted for what the Police High Command said was their alleged criminal and illegal activities in the parish.
The policemen are reportedly fighting this one to the end, and plan to engage the services of a lawyer, and have also taken their complaints to the Jamaica Police Federation (which will be reviewing the dismissals).

I appreciate your efforts on trying to stop these scams. The sick and elderly in the United States are being preyed on by these scammers. People are cancelling their trips to Jamaica. I think it’s a shame, you have such a beautiful country and it is one of the most popular places Americans like to visit.
