Half-Way-Tree Police Get Computers From Beenie Man & LIME
Popular local recording artiste Beenie Man, along with LIME (the telecommunications company sponsoring his annual summer stage show which happens tomorrow), donated two Hewlett Packard computers to the Half-Way-Tree Police Station in St. Andrew earlier today.
The artiste reportedly said “the police have been fighting a deep war, trust me. And their computer system is not really up to standard. They still have to be using papers, [still] have to be running through papers. So if them can put all the files through the system that the work can be easier, I am glad to be a part of it.”
Earlier this year, LIME provided reduced rate land-line service for sixteen rural police stations. The company has also provided computers and free Internet service to the Office of the Police Commissioner.
