Police Recruits Get Expanded Training
Forty Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) trainees were introduced this week, to the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) and its operations. As part of one of their training courses (in financial management), the recruits were given a familiarization tour of the JSE, and also a bit of the risks, rewards and opportunities available to them in terms of savings and equity investments.
For the first time ever also, the trainees’ six-month training program now includes training on finance and wealth management, with the goal being to equip him/her for the job itself (weapons training, knowledge of the law, policing techniques etc.), as well as for their own personal growth / development. As such, there were also courses on ethics, social graces, psychology and sociology.
The on-going goal with regard to this new expanded training, is that these courses can help to produce more competent and, corruption-immune members of the JCF.
