Jury Selection Begins In ACP Gilbert Kameka Murder Trial

Jury selection started yesterday in the case of the three men charged with the November 2007 murder of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Gilbert Kameka. Notably, the empaneling lasted the entire day and was still not completed, as there were not enough jurors and the panel was still one juror short. Senior Puisne Judge Marva McIntosh reportedly remarked that she had never seen a jury selection last so long.

The trial of the three accused men – 26-year-old Massinissa Adams of Industry Village, 18-year-old Kemar Dawson, of Standpipe, and 21-year-old Rohan Townsend of Irish Town – is expected to begin tomorrow.
