Gang Members Threaten To Kill Police Following Death Of Their Leader
Just last week, the police shot and killed one Joseph Barrett, a man who was reportedly the leader of the notorious ‘Joe Benbow’ in Jones Town. Now, the police high command has reportedly put members of the constabulary on high alert after receiving credible information that cronies of the slain gang leader have threatened to avenge his death by killing police officers and/or members of their family.
The police are now seeking five men who are of interest to them with regard to these threats: Marlando Barnett (also known as ‘Pastor’), Craig Hall, and three other men who are known only as Dujon, Sprat and Dean respectively.
“Police personnel have been sensitised to be resolute and to protect themselves and families,” the Jamaica Constabulary Force said in a release which was issued yesterday. The police are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of the men wanted for questioning to call 119, Operation Kingfish at 811 or Crime Stop and 311.
