Dear Editor,
We Jamaicans have a penchant for expending needless time and energy on what can only be construed as engaging in pointless trivia. There is a debate now raging as to whether the police force should accommodate the doctrinal cleavages of the Seventh-Day Adventist church.
The proponents of this argument have stated one’s democratic right to have freedom to practice one’s religion in a free society. Some have even invoked this as a God-given right to do this anywhere or everywhere. One’s need to worship in a manner that one sees fit is totally understandable … more
