Nolle Prosequi – Fake Policeman Freed
Twenty-three-year-old Courtney Grayson, the man who created a stir recently when he was reportedly caught pretending to be a policeman for at least six months, was freed of charges of impersonating a police officer and unlawful possession of property when he appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Director of Public Prosecutions Paula Llewellyn directed that a nolle prosequi (“not to pursue”) be entered in the case.
Llewelyn reportedly said “I have been in dialogue with the police throughout the investigation and deemed it prudent in the interest of justice to discontinue proceedings at this time.”
Notwithstanding this decision, the Police’s Anti-Corruption Branch will still reportedly be probing the matter.
