Almost 300 JCF Transfers Announced

A humongous list of transfers was published yesterday in the Jamaica Constabulary Forcer’s (JCF) Force Orders, with more than 280 members of the police force being reassigned in what is said to be the biggest shake-up ever in the JCF.

The changes will affect 32 members of the officer corps and 43 inspectors. Several popular officers have been reassigned including:

  • Superintendent Delroy Hewitt – transferred from Kingston West to Area Four Headquarters.
  • Superintendent Millicent Sproul-Thomas – formerly Commanding Officer for Kingston Central, now going to Community Safety and Security.
  • Former Police Federation Chairman, Deputy Superintendent Neville Knight – transferred from Motorised Patrol to St. Andrew Central.
  • Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) William Christie – transferred from St. Andrew South to Area Four headquarters.
  • DSP Stephen Moodie – transferred from the Firearms and Use of Force Task Force to Operations Branch (Control).

A significant number of policemen and women who previously had desk-bound duties have now been transferred to active divisions islandwide, and a number of administrative posts in the JCF will now reportedly be filled by civilians. These include the Legal Medical Unit, Transport and Repairs, the Forensic Laboratory and Stores and Armoury.
