St. Andrew South Division Said To Be Lacking Resources

With over 30 murders in the St. Andrew South Division since the start of the year, policemen in that division are reportedly complaining that they are lacking the resources needed to curtail outbreaks of violence in some communities there. The St. Andrew South Division contains a number of notoriously violent areas including Drewsland, Payne Avenue, Greenwich Farm, Whitfield Town, Maverley, Penwood Road, Moscow, Waltham Park Road and Seaview Gardens.

Last year alone there were 223 murders in this Division, out of a total of 1611 murders island wide. Gang feuds are reportedly a main cause of the on-going problems in many of the communities.
