Police Murder Suspect Still Not Charged
The suspect who turned himself in for the January 5 murder of special constable Richard Hamilton, is still to be charged for the murder. The police have blamed problems / glitches with the staging of identification parades. This is ironic given that the police recently announced the launch of a state of the art video identification system. Hopefully it’s not this new system that’s already giving problems, in fact it seems likely that the problem is with regard to the actual witnesses – i.e. finding persons willing to step forward as witnesses.
Jamaica’s “anti-informer” culture of silence may very well be the direct cause of hold-ups in this case.
