U.K. expat cop, Assistant Commissioner Les Green, has reportedly renewed his contract with the Jamaican Government for another two years. Green was seconded from the British police force in October 2004 to assist the Ministry of National Security’s mandate to modernize the Jamaican police force. He currently heads the Serious & Organized Crime Division and has been quietly integral in the setting up of a number of anti-crime initiatives including: (1) Operation Kingfish (a task force mandated to dismantle gangs, drug traffickers and arms traffickers) (2) the Major Investigation Taskforce (3) Increased use of forensics in the solving of crimes.
