St. Andrew South Police Get Corporate Assistance
The St. Andrew South Police division were recently assisted by businesses in their division. The businesses assisted them in setting up a new three line telephone hot line system that should allow the police to be more easily and readily accessible to be summoned for emergencies.
Earlier this year, Tropical Storm Gustav caused extensive damage to the Hunts Bay police station’s telephone system, thus persons in need of assistance were unable to get through to the police. With this new telephone system in place however, it is expected that residents and business persons within the St. Andrew South Police Division will be able to get an immediate response from the police whenever they are in trouble.
In addition to the actual telephone system, the businesses have donated funds that will be used to pay the telephone operators who are civilians from HEART Trust/NTA.
The numbers for the new telephone hotline are: 610-6276, 610-6280 and 610-6309.
