Suspended Sentence for Role in ACP’s Murder
19 year old Tina-Gaye McGowan, the woman implicated as an accessory in the November 2007 murder of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Gilbert Kameka, was yesterday given a suspended three year sentence for her role in the policeman’s murder. She reportedly walked out of court smiling.
Kameka was shot dead on November 29, 2007 at premises in Irish Town, St. Andrew where he had reportedly gone for a secret intimate rendezvous with McGowan. His firearm was stolen during the incident. He’s the highest ranking member of the constabulary force to be murdered here in Jamaica.
McGowan along with three men were arrested in connection with the murder. The three men are all charged with murder, and are scheduled to appear in the Home Circuit Court today (November 12).
