ISCF Intensifies Recruiting Efforts

The Recruitment Division of the Island Special Constabulary Force (ISCF) is intensifying efforts to increase the numbers in that arm of Jamaica’s police force.

According to reports, the ISCF is on a mission to “facilitate and recruit applicants between the ages of 18 and 40, with the right aptitude for the organisation.” They are looking to recruit men and women with the professional standards, integrity and potential to make a positive impact on the organisation.

There has been recent recruitment activity in Mandeville, as well as other areas of Manchester, St. Elizabeth and Clarendon. This exercise will be extended to cover the rest of the island soon.

Additionally, 125 persons are currently being trained at Harmon Barracks in Kingston. In July of this year, another 119 recruits graduated from the Carl Rattray Training facility in Runaway Bay, St. Ann.

Full assessments are being done on all recruits, including security checks, written tests and interviews. Prospectives will also undergo formal training for a period of 20 weeks, training that includes exposure to the country’s Laws and Police duties, firearm training, among other things.
